This week would usually be a video release, rather than a blog post. But as its Easter at the weekend, I wanted to release a special Easter pattern. So for this week only, I have an Easter Special - My Cuddle Size Bunny.
Last year around Easter time I released the Easter Baskets and mini bunny pattern, but this year I wanted to make a more cuddly sized bunny. My initial thought was just to make the same pattern but using blanket yarn. However, after trying this out I just wasn't finding the pattern as cute as the tiny bunnies, so I decided to start again. I also decided that this year I wanted the bunny to have floppy ears (although this does remind me a lot of a puppy) and that the arms and legs needed to be reshaped. I added some additional nose shaping too and made a pom pom tail this time around.
Like many of the toy patterns, the bunny features join as you go limbs and ears, although the pom pom tail is sewn on separately. I also added some additional sewn features, such as the mouth and also the claws on the limbs. This is the third draft of designing this bunny, I kept ending up the wrong sized limbs or ears not placed right. I still think maybe the ears could be a little longer, but generally I am happy with this final draft of the cuddle bunny.
The pattern is fairly straight forward and although I have not had time to make a video for this bunny yet, should be easy enough to make from the written pattern which you can find for FREE here.
I hope you enjoy the Cuddle Bunny pattern - she works up quickly so would be perfect for that last minute Easter present. I will join you again next back on my regular schedule to continue with the Polar Playmat Patterns.

3. Notes
Here are a few handy tips to help you with the pattern.
· Gauge – no specific gauge is require for this bunny,m but the tighter you work the better.
· The ears and limbs of the bunny are made first and joined as you go.
· * Attaching the ears – you will need to attach from the smaller end. Fold the ear edges into towards the centre – you will attach it like this. Holding the ears with the edges folded in, insert your hook through both layers of the ear and then through the head and sc through all 3 pieces, you will do this for each stitch.
